MY FAVORITE SUBJECT

At the begining of this  university year one of the subjects that scares me was radio, because even when I study journalism, in the two first years of the career we didn't use the voice so much because we just write news.

At the beggining one of my biggest fears was my voice because is too deep and I speak fast so I think that on radio people isn't going to understand what I said on air.

However when classes start with teacher Elizabeth Bustos I calmed down becuase she said that we are going to work the voice and the speaking way with the entire class, and we did it.

On first semester we did recorded news in a studio and then we start going on air doing live programs on teams about different topics like culture, sport or economy. We end the semester doing live contact by phone with differents politic events or meetings to talk about what happen there.

The class continued on second semester and no doubt it was the subject that I like the most on the career

This time we continued doing programs but now with free topics and worried about of the music, technic work and selection of what are we going to talk about. We work on teams of 8 or 9 persons, dividing roles like conduction , reporters and production.

The results of this way of work left me conformable because we have very good qualifications and also because I feel that I learned how to work on radi, something that at the beggining makes me get so scare but now I hope I can realize in a profesional way on the future.

THE PERSON THAT I ADMIRE

One of the persons that I admire the most is Norka Cano a peruvian teacher that make spanish lessons in my school.

When I met her, she was an old woman and I only have two years of classes with her, because she retire after.

For those two years, were so important, because with her different ways to teach she makes me like writing.

She write poetry, have a full time job in a school and also used to do community work with peruvian people.

Also she makes me like to read and have a social conscience and for that reason I decided to study journalism after a long conversation when she wasn't my teacher anymore.

For that besides admire her, I love her and always say thank you for the after decisions that I take.

In some moment in her life she wanted to study journalism, but for stability and vocation she decided to be a teacher. Even of that she has the hability of motivate me of study journalism even when I used to be afraid of it.

MY FAVORITE BAND

Its too dificult for me to chose my favorite band, because I always pay atention in to the musical genres more than the singers.

Anyway, I always liked the funk and andean music, so I believe there are two bands that I could chose as favorites:

Quilapayun and on the other side a very different one, Chancho en Piedra.

Even when those two bands are so differents, they were merged and created a new band named Colectivo cantata rock. That was based in "La cantata de santa maría de Iquique" a past work of quilapayún but with the colaboration of chancho en piedra's members that make a new and fresh sound with new instruments and that make the song alive again

The album that they release together named Cantata rock is my favorite.

First because mix rock and andean beats.

Then because deal with an important historic moment in a social way, like the killing in 1907 in the Santa María school in Iquique.

From this album, my favorite song is "vamos mujer" that show the hope of the families of the workers that were murdered in Iquique, only for demand their laboral rights.

MY FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHY

This picture shows all my family, my parents, my two sisters, my brother, my three nephews and my brothers in law.                                                                 Also I appear and I believe that it’s one of the only pictures where it’s all the familiy, because I’m usually taking the picture.

In the picture all my family and I are with the chilean football team t-shirt because it was on july 4, 2015, and in the national stadium was the final of the american cup against argentina. In the results Chile beat Argentina and won his first cup.

During a break of the match, we went out of my house and we talk with some neighbors. One of them wanted to take us this picture, because every member of my familiy add together the same eleven members of a football team.

I like this picture soo much because its one of the few family picture that I have, and also remember me the triumph of the chilean football team and the happiness celebrating on family

My favorite festivity

The festivity that I most hope it's christmas, the day when catholic people celebrate that Jesús was born.

The Christmas is on  december 25th, but it's celebrated in two days.

With my family, we dinner during Christmas evening on december 24th, waiting for midnight to give hugs and the different presents we bought or that we created manually to each others.

I used to prefer celebrated new year, because I liked to dance in parties. But since I have three  nephews: Nacho, Joaquín and Agustín I prefer Christmas.

They really like that day because of the presents although when we teach them that it's not the most important thing.

This date can be really consumerist, but anyway the happiness of my nephews and the opportunity of being in family makes me like it a lot.

Finally I believe no matter what we celebrate or in what way, we are the ones who give it the sense.

Christmas also can be an oportunity to teach solidarity to the kids, and a I would like in a future use this date to teach my nephews to share their presents and not acumulate them.

MY FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL OBJECT

Hello Classmates and teacher!!!

My favorite technological object it's my cell phone and it was a christmas present that my brother gave me.

My cell phone it's a smartphone and it's something that I use everyday to communicate and inform.

I like it so much to have it, because it's little but have a lot of functions. For example I can record an interview and take pictures.

Without my cell phone it would be so dificult to get organized with my classmates and stay connected.

I use my cell phone also to wake me up and organize my calendar.

One year ago I lost my old cell phone and was really dificult to stay without it and since that moment I try to take care of it much more, because I always forget thinks and use to lose it.

I hope never lose this one!

Journalism and me

When I was a Little girl I wanted to be a police officer because I liked the social justice and I believe the pólice can change the world.

Then when I grew up I thought that politics could be the way and that’s why I started studying administración publica.

Pitifully that career didn’t meet my xpectations because was more technique  than social and I decided  change to journalism because mix comunication with social interest.

Actually I’am in third year and although when sometimes there are things like the television subject that make me really nervous, I believe that through the journalism I can contribute to the society and try to make a better world like I used to dream when I was a little girl.

WELCOME

Hello classmates and teacher, welcome to my blog.

To continue I am writing my first post and speak about my autobiography:

My name is Constanza Villagrán. I was born on October the third of 1993 in San José hospital.

I’m the fourth daughter of my mother Teresa Alarcón and my father Luis Villagrán.  I have two sisters and one brother.

Currently, I am twenty three years old and I study journalism at Universidad de Chile, but before I studied another career.

I made a course of political and governmental sciences in the summer school at the Universidad de Chile.
In 2013 I started studying Administración Publica at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, but in May this year I decided to retire of the University.

In 2014 Joaquín Caris, my nephew was born and I started to study journalism, because I realized I like commutation a lot better than politics.
